Rancher Navy, the Texas 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides disaster relief to farmers, ranchers and agricultural communities, has mobilized a coordinated relief effort for families affected by the Ross Fire in Texas. The organization is accepting requests for assistance, matching donated supplies to the operations that need them, and asking for volunteer haulers with trucks and trailers.

The fire has burned pasture, fencing and structures, leaving livestock producers without feed and without the fencing needed to contain animals. Rancher Navy is working with affected families to identify what has been lost and to move replacement supplies from donors across the region.

How to Get Help

Farm and ranch families affected by the Ross Fire can request assistance at ranchernavy.org. Families in immediate danger should follow the instructions of county emergency officials first.

How to Help

Rancher Navy is asking for three kinds of support, all coordinated through ranchernavy.org:

• Donations of supplies: hay, feed, fencing, panels, water and veterinary supplies. Donors list what they have and where it is located; Rancher Navy handles the matching.
• Haulers: volunteers with a truck and trailer to move loads between donors and affected families. This is the organization’s most urgent need.
• Coordination of volunteers: people who can take calls, track requests and keep records current from wherever they are.

Coordinated Through Support Beacon Relief™

The response is being run on Support Beacon Relief, a disaster-logistics platform that gives Rancher Navy a single record of every load from the moment it is offered to the moment it is delivered — replacing the phone trees and spreadsheets that have historically carried this work. Volunteers, donors, haulers and recipients register at ranchernavy.org and work from a web portal or a mobile app.

Support Beacon Relief was designed and developed by shared resources from Fuzion Consulting Group and Fuzion Chickasaw Group, in partnership with Rancher Navy, and is licensed to the nonprofit at no cost. Fuzion support staff are available to Rancher Navy volunteers by phone and email for the duration of the response.

Fuzion Consulting Group™ and Fuzion Chickasaw Group™ recently visited Anderson Bean Boot Company and Rios of Mercedes Boots in Mercedes, Texas — two iconic American brands recognized for craftsmanship, heritage, and a commitment to quality.

The visit was hosted by Ryan Vaughan, President & CEO, and Clayton Evans, Chief Financial Officer of Rios of Mercedes, and coordinated through Michael Wright of The Shoe & Boot Outlet. It offered an in-depth look at the boot-making process and the skilled teams behind each pair.

The visit carried a personal connection: Fuzion’s leadership has a longstanding appreciation for American-made craftsmanship — a value shared by Fuzion developer Prag Padilla, an avid collector of U.S.-made boots. Fuzion also recognizes the thoughtful work already underway at these brands, including their adoption of SAP Business One.

Fuzion approached the visit with no expectation of immediate engagement — only a desire to learn, listen, and understand — and thanks both teams for their hospitality and transparency.

Fuzion was engaged by the Generation organization of a large electric utility to assume the assessment, stabilization, and ongoing support of a legacy Enterprise Project Management System (EPMS). The application supports Generation, Operations, and Transmission & Distribution, and is heavily used during seasonal outage planning and execution.

EPMS manages the end-to-end project lifecycle from Stage Gate 1 through Stage Gate 5, including long-range forecasting, accounting integration, and interfaces with the utility’s financial business office. With limited documentation and the original developer retired, the system carried elevated operational and support risk.

The Generation Document Management Portal (GDMP) is a custom Microsoft 365–based document management platform supporting construction, engineering, and generation operations through long-term development, integration, and lifecycle support — in continuous use since 2021.

Key Challenges

Fuzion was engaged by the Generation organization and Corporate IT to develop a comprehensive IT Project Charter and Azure DevOps (ADO) functional requirements framework for the EPMS program.

The effort supported a strategic evaluation across Generation, Operations, and Transmission & Distribution — whether to continue investing in existing platforms or transition to commercial SaaS alternatives — and required a formal, defensible, and traceable documentation package.

Fuzion was engaged to modernize and automate a previously manual alarm response process for power plant equipment alarms — historically managed through disconnected emails and Microsoft Word documents and requiring coordination between plant operations, engineering, and an external Owner’s Engineer.

Built on the Microsoft Power Platform and SharePoint, the centralized Alarm Response Management application replaced manual document handling with structured digital workflows that improved visibility, accountability, and review-cycle efficiency.

Fuzion was engaged by the Generation organization to modernize and automate two mission-critical SharePoint libraries — the ESL and the Plant Document Library (PDL) — that support engineering standards, procedures, and plant documentation essential to generation projects and seasonal spring and fall outages.

The goal was a single, centralized, and standardized location for managing generation documents and specifications in a regulated utility environment, aligned with other Generation automation initiatives.

Fuzion was engaged by the Generation organization of a large electric utility to design and deliver a new 3P Lifecycle Management System (3P App) — a mission-critical platform governing all non-nuclear documents across the utility’s generation fleet.

The 3P App replaced fragmented, manual, email-driven document governance with a structured, auditable, role-based system that manages documents throughout their entire lifecycle — creation, review, approval, publication, and long-term maintenance — all within the utility’s Microsoft 365 environment.

Support Beacon Relief™ is live and in use by Rancher Navy for relief operations, including the Ross Fire response. The platform was designed and developed by shared resources from Fuzion Consulting Group and Fuzion Chickasaw Group, in partnership with Rancher Navy, and is licensed to the nonprofit at no cost.

Historical Delivery and Testing Milestone · 2026

Fuzion delivered the platform to the founders of Rancher Navy for hands-on field testing — at no charge — as communities across the Texas Hill Country marked one year since the catastrophic July 4, 2025, flooding along the Guadalupe River. That testing milestone is part of the platform’s history, not its current operational status.

Support Beacon Relief™ is a disaster relief logistics and volunteer coordination platform born from Fuzion’s nonprofit partnership with Rancher Navy — founded by Morgan Broome, Amy Houston Gaddis, and Holli Geeslin.

Fuzion worked closely with Rancher Navy to automate spreadsheet-driven logistics used to coordinate hay donations, volunteer drivers, disaster locations, and delivery timelines — replacing manual coordination with real-time visibility and automation.

• Manual coordination of disaster relief using spreadsheets and phone calls.
• Limited scalability across multi-state operations and growing response volume.
• Need for secure, real-time logistics and volunteer management.

Looking Ahead

Support Beacon Logistics™ is a separate internal product initiative jointly developed by Fuzion Consulting Group and Fuzion Chickasaw Group, not a delivered Rancher Navy client project. It remains in development, with a current target of Spring 2027. Earlier enterprise-development plans cited Fall 2027; that historical target does not describe Relief’s current live operations.

Support Beacon Rescue™ is a dedicated Search & Rescue (SAR) application built to support Rancher Navy’s volunteer Search and Rescue operations, other nonprofits, and tribal nations.

Support Beacon Rescue™ extends the Support Beacon platform into field coordination for ground teams — helping SAR volunteers organize deployments, track team locations and assignments, and coordinate searches with the same secure, real-time visibility that Support Beacon Relief™ brings to disaster-relief logistics.

The application was inspired by Rancher Navy’s volunteer Search and Rescue team, whose members answered the call during the July 4, 2025, Guadalupe River flooding in the Texas Hill Country. Fuzion intends to make Support Beacon Rescue™ available to nonprofit SAR organizations and tribal nations.

Looking Ahead

Support Beacon Rescue™ is currently in testing within Fuzion’s SB217™ platform suite. Within the same suite, Support Beacon Relief™ is live with Rancher Navy for relief operations, while the separate enterprise product, Support Beacon Logistics™, remains in development.
